The new indoor season saw new age groups for the DTFC athletes as the UK came in line with most of the athletics world changing to U12,U14,U16,U18 and U20. It was a trip to the Emirates in Glasgow for the DTFC athletes to compete in the first SAIL (Scottish Athletics Indoor League match of the season.

 

In the U12 category competitive debutants Noemi Service had 2 PBs in her 600m (10.14sec) and Long jump (2.89m) where she finished 11th and 7th respectively while Lucy Kinnear was 6th in the 60m(10.01s) and 7th in the long jump (3.01m). Blake Sharp ran an excellent 4th spot in the 600m(2.10min) and in the U12 B string 600m Mara Lowe also finished 4th in (2.05mins)

 

The U14 age group saw some of the more established athletes stepping up an age group . Tristan Johnson’s indoor debut saw him 10th with PBs in both the 60m(9.75s) and 200m (31.23s), Millie Gordon also added 2 PBs in her 60m(9.95s) and shot putt (4.98m) Eve Beveridge’s best performance was an 8th in the high jump and Alice Thomas achieved two 3rd places in the 800m and long jump with a 3.88m PB in the latter.

 

The U16s were well represented, and the following athletes’ best performances were as follows. Finlay Gibson 9th spots in the 60m (8.74s) PB and 200m, Pippa Rambaut 5th in the 200m (28.4s) and 10th in the long jump (3.52m) with PBs in both, Poppy Warner was 3rd in her 300m while Cole Gray was 10th in his 400m ( 67.4secs) and 13th in his shot putt (3.85m) with PBs in both and Alfie Whyte started his season well with a 4th place in his 800m (2.19min) PB and Ana Stobie was 7th in her 60m in an excellent (8.72secs) PB.

 

The only competing age group were the U18s where Riley Gardiner led the way with a 5th spot in the 60m (7.85s) PB and  7th place in his 800m (2.20mins )PB. Lottie Thomas kept up last seasons excellent form with a 1st place in the 60m (8.05secs) PB and a 3rd spot in her 400m (59.59secs) PB and Molly Robinson continued to improve in the 60m hurdles in 6th spot (11.6secs) PB with Caitlin Chalmers continuing her excellent field event form with a win in her high jump (1.50m) and 4th in the shot putt.
