Central & South Scotland League Match 2
1st June 2025
Grangemouth

The first Central & South Scotland League took place at the beginning of the month with a number of Dunfermline Tack & Field athletes making the journey over to Linwood in Renfrewshire to compete. The club remained in Division 2 and have sights set on gaining promotion back to Division 1 after the 3 CSSAL matches. It was a fruitful day with the 13 competing DTFC athletes setting 23 Personal Bests (PBs) on the day.

 

First up were the U13s and Finlay Gibson finishing 2nd in his 100m ( 14.08secs) and 8th in his long jump (3.45m) with 2 SBs (seasons best) , Alfie Walsh was 7th in the 100m ( 15.28secs) PB and 10th in his long jump( 3.27m) PB , K3elseigh Wilson set 3 PBs in her two 6th place finishes in long jump ( 3.7m) and shot putt ( 4.88m while also setting a PB in her 100m ( 15.97secs). Mara Webber also set two PBs in her 800m (16.05secs) where she was 11th and an excellent 9th spot in her 800m ( 3.03mins). Alfie Whyte is one of the top U13B 800m runners in Scotland and he once again showed his quality in winning his 800m in a PB of 2.21mins also adding a 5th spot in the shot putt where he threw  5.2m for another PB.

 

There were only four athletes in the U15 category all entering two events each and all setting PBs in all their events. Poppy Buchanan ( 14.38secs) was 8th in her 100m and 10th in her javelin ( 8.69m) while Evanne Carson was 9th in her 100m in 14.41secs and 4th in her shot putt throwing 6.06m. There was also the ever-improving Abby McAndrew with an excellent 6th in her 800m (2.37mins) and 10th in the shot putt ( 4.74m) and Rachel Petrie who was 11th in her javelin ( 6.04m) and 12th in her 800m (2.49mins)

 

There was only one U17 athlete competing and that was Lucy Gibb. She finished 3rd in her 800m ( 2..29mins) SB and set a PB in her 3.50m  long jump.

 

The trio of U20 athletes were also setting PBs and SBs in their events. Kirstin Penman secured two 4th place finishes in her 400m ( 69.37secs) SB and javelin ( 21.23m)PB while Sarah Kane set a 12.94secs PB in her 100m where she finished 3rd and threw a 19.79m PB in her javelin to finish 5th.

Forth Valley League Match 1
27th April 2025
Livingston

It was the chance for the young DTFC athletes to shine with the first Forth Valley League match of the season held at Livingston in April.

 

There were several debutants from the club at the U11 age group experiencing their first taste of competitive athletics. They all shone through with some excellent displays .

 

Mara Lowe led the way winning her shot putt (4.54m) and finishing 3rd in her 800m in 3.11mins. Matthew Morrison-Drever finished 7th and 8th respectively in his two events . He posted 16.5 secs for his 100m and 3.26m for his 800m. Jacon Duncan posted an 8th spot in his 100m ( 17.0secs) and 9th in his 800m (3.45mins),while for the girls  Clara Jackson was 7th in her 100m ( 17.0secs) and  Blake Sharp was 3rd in her shot putt (3.35m) and 8th in the 100m (17.4secs).

 

The U13s were also in good form with Alice Thomas leading the way with wins in her 100m (14.2secs )PB, 800m (2.46mins) and long jump (3.61m )PB while for the boys Alfie Whyte also posted 3 wins in the 100m(14.3secs)PB, 800m (2.26mins) and long jump (3.96m)PB. Kelseigh Wilson also took a first spot for the U13s in her high jump with a 1.23m PB jump. Millie Gordon continued her steady improvement with a 6th place in her long jump and a 2.99m PB.

 

The U15s have a very good squad this year and their class shone through with several wins and solid finishes. Lottie Thomas was 1st in her 100m ( 12.7secs)PB, Poppy Warner added two 1st places in her 800m (2.29mins) and javelin (10.57m )PB while Pippa Rambaut was 3rd in her 100m ( 13.6secs)PB. Abby McAndrew is having an excellent season and added a 3rd spot in her 800m (3.40mins) . There were solid performances by Ana Stobie in the long jump ( 2.42m) SB and Paige Wilson (2.94m) .
